With the aim of beating piracy, maintaining the order in the culture market, and promoting the development of Chinese AV and computer software industries, in accordance with the Chinese laws and regulations on AV and software IPR protection, the Chinese Office of Elimination Pornography and Illegal Publications, the Ministry of Culture, the General Administration of Press and Publication, the National Copyright Administration, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Construction, and the Ministry of Supervision announced to the whole nation on July 12, 2006 that, during the continuous course of beating illegal publications, a special action against piracy of AV and software will be launched in the nation range for a hundred days.
