Wu Yi, a member of Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China's Central Committee (CPCCC), a Vice Premier of the State Council, and the head of the leadership group for the formulation of state IP strategy, presided over the first meeting of the leadership group for the formulation of the state IP strategy on June 30, which formally initiated the formulation of the state IP strategy.
Wu Yi pointed out at the meeting that the formulation of the state IP strategy was the objective need with development of China's reform and openness to the outside world as well as with China's economic and social development, was and active response to the challenge of the change of international rules of IP, and was an urgent task to maintain China's interests and economic security. It would help speed-up the building of a market environment for fair competition, and help enhance China's independent innovation capabilities and core competitiveness.
